My subject line says it all. 'West Wing' star to play Amber Frey February 19, 2005 Janel Moloney of "The West Wing" will star in a CBS movie about Amber Frey, the former mistress of murderer Scott Peterson. The film is based on her recent book Witness: The Amber Frey Story. Moloney, a two-time Emmy nominee for her work as White House aide Donna Moss on "The West Wing," will begin shooting the film next month in Vancouver. No air date has been set. Frey, a massage therapist and single mother from Fresno, Calif., was the star prosecution witness in the case against Peterson, who was convicted of killing his wife, Laci, and her unborn fetus. Jurors in Redwood City, Calif., sent Peterson to Death Row in December. Frey has said she was unaware Peterson was married during their affair, which overlapped with Laci Peterson's disappearance.

ITA, Flamingo. While it might be good for Janel to get her name out there with a starring role, this sounds just so horribly Lifetime. Yeuch.

Oh I know this sounds awful, but I'm just excited to see her in a movie without having to watch "Bang, Bang, You're Dead."

The Timothy Busfield is in it too. Also, the Christopher Meloni/Janel Moloney deal is just too amusing on names alone. Ha.

In case anybody wants to know the plot, I can sum it up in Amber Frey=good; Scott Peterson=bad. Janel was good though. Donna should wear jeans more.

Well, I live not very far from Modesto. Actually, Amber is from my town. So, I'd heard more than enough about the whole thing already. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, SO.

Yeah, the movie itself was pretty bad, as might be expected, but Janel made it bearable. Let's hope that's her last foray into made-for-tv, though.

Well as someone said before about it being so "Lifetime-ish" it actually was on Lifetime today and I could only bear to watch the first 20 minutes. Janel did a good job though it was wierd to have to remember she wasn't Donna. I think people are still on Scott Peterson overload though.
