Yep - you've got me beat. I didn't have a VCR the first time it aired and I thought about taping some episodes when it was on PAX, but they were edited, weren't they? I kept feeling like there were parts missing when I watched them and they took out some of the strangest words. I mean what could possibly have been offensive on S&MK? That show was so wonder bread it's comical. The worst thing Amanda ever said was "Oh Gosh." ???

I think they were edited for time. ??? I didn't have a VCR the first time 'round either. I taped them in syndication (so they're time edited too :() 10ish years ago. I don't remember what channel they were on (way before PAX), but I know the channel went off the air.

I believe it was the original Family channel. I watched them every day. It's been on several cable channels over the years.

A heads up: ellen.com doesn't appear to Ellen DeGeneres. I think Ellen.warnerbros.com is the offical site. ???

I taped the interview, so if anyone needs a description, let me know. Not much West Wing talk, but hilarious none-the-less.

I didn't see it or tape it. (It was Martin or Allison - what do you think? ;))

But, I did get a thing that said they bet on a basketball competition. If Martin lost he had to wear Ellen's underwear (she has underwear with her name on them that she gives as gifts to the guests - not hers, you know new ones... maybe I should stop this tangent now. ::)) on the set of WW and have his picture taken showing proof. If Ellen lost she had to wear his underwear. ??? Ellen lost, but Martin said he would go ahead and wear hers and get the photo taken in the Oval.

SO - I wouldn't mind a brief synopsis if you're so inclined. ;) :-*

LOL about the bet! (By the by, go to ellendegeneres.com and there should be a pop-up ping pong Ellen talking about another Allison rematch, hee) AJ, had to make the same decision or you, but thankfully S.O. is fabu and taped it for me.

Yes, I understand the choice. They were all on at different times here, so my only taping issue was not have enought tape for all 3 hours of the Today Show and therefore taking a random stab and hoping to get Allison, which sort of (almost) worked.

Time got away from me tonight, But I will tomorrow night, I promise.

Ok, I'm probably not as good at this as Claire, so bear with me:

The main West Wing thing was right at the beginning with a clip of Jed and Leo yelling/ arguing. :(

He brought out a card she left in his dressing room (apparently the same on she gives to everyone) and read it aloud. It's a thanks for coming and if you ever have a talk show I'll be on it.

He asks if she really went to Harvard (mentioned in an earlier bit). She didn't, but she's going to be there to give a commencement speech in the summer. They are probably giving her an honorary degree. He has several (two doctorates, one in humanities and one in...humanities), but says they aren't good for anything and doesn’t have a real one. "I have enough degrees; I need an education."

Ellen has just learned that Martin Sheen is not his real name. He gets out his ID, talking about how he has to travel under his real name, Ramon Estevez, because you need a photo ID, even though they recognize him, and he never legally changed his. Ellen says he looks a lot like Charlie and the picture should be his headshot and asks if she can show it but cover up important things. He doesn't care what she shows. "Well we don't want your address!" He didn't change it because he loved his name and didn't think he'd become famous when he started with the Sheen aka. Apparently you can have two different social security cards with different names but the same number. "I wrote in and said I have this problem. I've invented this person and now I'm starting to make a few bucks, and I think you guys should know about it." His dad didn't understand having an aka, and wouldn't speak to him at first. Martin/Ramon was sorry he changed it the first time he was it on a marquee. :(

The underwear thing: Ellen had a bet with Ray Romano with golf and a shirts, so the Martin version in basketball since that's his game. "Well just by myself; I'm not that good." Three shots each, whoever makes the fewest has to wear underwear with the other one's name on it. He would have to wear them in the Oval and have a picture to prove it.

He's nice and introduces himself to the person handing him the ball. Much complaining that the hoop is too high, and does a lay-up betting that it's about 6 feet 10 inches, despite the show people saying it's regulation. Ellen doesn't make any; he makes one. Then he says it's not fair because he plays in his backyard. Explains that when he and Charlie were challenged by Michael Jordan, Michael played with his eyes closed to even it up a little more. Ellen: "I'm playing you and you've been challenged by Michael Jordan." So he says that if he doesn't make it with his eyes closed, he'll wear the underwear. Gotta love how he compared himself to MJ here. :D He didn't make it. 8-)

That's possibly more details than you wanted. Better to err that way I guess. ??? :P

For those of us who are in the UK - all 3 of us I believe! - there is a newish movie channel called True Movies on Sky TV. It basically shows made for TV movies. Yesterday it showed Martin in Shattered Spirits and today it was Guilty Until Proven Innocent. I missed both of them apart from the last five minutes so I'm kicking myself but I just thought I'd tell everyone cos if they're showing Martin they might show other movies with other West Wingers in them, so you can be on the look out (if you're as sad as me anyway!)
